April is Citizen Science Month, a perfect time to learn more about our environment and make a positive impact! Our Citizen Science Kits are small boxes containing everything needed for experiments that contribute to real scientific studies. 

🏢 Assessing Indoor Air Quality: Monitor CO2 levels to determine if ventilation is adequate.

 

🌱 Exploring Biodiversity: Document and identify plants and animals around you.

🌙 Measuring Light in the Night: Help gather light pollution data in your community.

 

🌬️ Monitoring Air Quality: Capture measurements using an AirBeam Sensor.

🐝 Zombee Hunting: Is the Zombie Fly attacking bees in your neighborhood?

Earth Day Special:  Milkweed Seed Packets!

Stop by the library on Earth Day, Tuesday, April 22, to pick up free milkweed seed packets! Milkweed is not only beautiful, it also supports monarch butterflies, other pollinators, improves soil health, and helps prevent erosion. 

  • Each packet contains seeds in a biodegradable bag, 2 peat pellets for planting, and instructions for germination & planting
  • MCLD will give away packets while supplies last
  • One kit per household
