After more than 30 years in Gila Bend, it’s difficult to share the news of our closure. This library has been more than just a place we’ve worked. It’s felt like a home. Thank you for letting us be part of your community. Serving you and your neighbors has been an honor, and we’ll deeply miss being part of everyday life in Gila Bend.
Our last day will be Thursday, May 22.
Here are a few more important details to keep in mind:
You can still use your library card and have access to materials.
In the coming weeks, we will change your home library to Ed Robson Library (Sun Lakes)so your card will stay active.
You may return library materials using the outdoor book drop through June 1.
We are exploring alternative ways for you to return materials to us after the book drop has been removed. We will share those details with you when we know more.
We have digital content that you can access from a personal device.
Browse our collection of digital books, movies, TV shows, magazines, and newspapers.
Some of these services have apps you can download onto your device and some are available directly from our website.
You will need your library card number and pin (usually the last 4 digits of your phone number).
What's next? In the coming weeks, we’ll send you follow-up emails to remind you of this information and share any important updates. Library and County leadership are exploring options on how to restore library services in Gila Bend in the future.
